Throughout the existence of the building (built around 1895), not only through the change of owners, but also with the slightest change in the social formation, the first floor has always functioned as a commercial institution, although there were changes of names and of advertising.

In chronological order it would look like this: from 1896 to 1898 it was an inn, a grocery store/wine cellar, a wine shop and a grocery store; approximately from 1908 it became the I. Oksinoit's shop; since 1920 and until 1930 it was the Constantin Mimi's wines comersialization spot, the present "Mimi Castle" and until 1940 - the shop of D. Oksinoit; in the last years of the Second World War (Soviet period) it was the grocery store No. 9 "Gorpischetorga" also going under the name of the "Association" shop Mineralnie Vodi "Avtomat", Currently being a restaurant “Wine Tasting Room Wine.MD”.

Chicken liver pâté with onion jam

A delicate creamy pâté in combination with red onion jam boiled in red wine. It's the perfect aperitif for
red wine such as “Feteasca Neagra” from Cricova or a “Rara Neagra” from Castel Mimi!

Pork shank with pickles

A succulent pork shank with garlic baked potatoes, pickled green tomatoes and mustard sauce is an excellent gastronomic delight. Combine it with not too acidic, rather soft white wines such as Cricova “Feteasca Alba” or Castel Mimi “Riesling”. As well as all young red wines, supple and delicate, with a fruity note, are best served chilled (at 15°C).

Chocolate fondant with ice cream

Creamy chocolate lava cake with ice cream is the perfect combination to finish the dinner. Goes well alongside Cherry vermouth from Vinuri Ialoveni.

There are four wine regions in Moldova, and 122,000 hectares of vineyards. Moldova ranks first in the world for the vineyards per capita! Viticulture and winemaking are the largest employers in our country. In 2022, more than 260 thousand tons of grapes, or 18 million dal of wine were processed, of which more than 80% were exported to 71 countries. However, wine related events take place almost all year round. The proprietor’s wine routes and wine tours are developing to reveal hidden gems – small, little known family wineries. As member of the Historic Cafes Route, Wine.MD will offer within our events, coffee not just as an complimentary beverage to food and dessert, we will design special coffee events to promote the coffee story and link the Historic Cafes Route to important Moldovan historic cafes, restaurants and hotels to implement travel programs for Moldova connecting Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe.
